Experience a “living museum” that allows you to engage your senses to explore the mysterious and beautiful Cretan past.
We meet at the Fort located in the Old Town of Ierapetra for a walking tour and to shop for items to prepare for your meal.
Ierapetra is one of the oldest towns built on the coast of the Libyan Sea. It was a powerful port town during the Hellenistic and Roman periods, and most likely in early period too! Rumors say that Napoleon stayed here before leaving Europe for his military campaign in Africa
After enjoying a slice of modern life, you will experience a truly distinct culinary adventure that explores how the Minoans might have cooked some 3000-5000 years ago. Around a cooking hearth you will cook in ceramic pots while learning about the Minoans and the ancient landscape of Crete. The knowledge shared with you is based on archaeological and environmental data, art history, ethnographic accounts, and local stories.
