My name is Antonis Farsaris and I finished school in my hometown Lasithi, Crete and I continued my studies in Athens, graduating with a degree in the Preservation Of Works Of Art And Antiquities.
I have the pleasure and the honour to grow up in a beautiful country like Greece, where tourism is the main occupation of its people and hospitality is their main characteristic. So, in my turn I followed this career path, working in many different positions around tourism.
I spent my free time, exploring the unparalleled beauty of the Cretan landscape, hiking in the mountains of the island, walking around the main land and the blue coastline. Meanwhile, older people taught me secrets of the Cretan tradition and I am now well acquainted with traditional procedures and technics such as the distillation of raki –our favourite drink- the cultivation of olive, the making of barley rusk etc.
In the past few years, I own a traditional Cretan wood burning oven, following everything I had been taught and experienced by my grandparents, continuing our village’s long life tradition around the bread, and more specifically “ntako”, the most characteristic kind of bread, connecting my past with the future
I am also co-founder of the platform Local Experience and host of two experiences, that are strongly connected with things that life has taught me.
I am inviting you to book one unique experience and learn local secrets that will certainly make your choice worth!
